The room beyond the windmill

what poison is this?

alone in love in the room beyond the windmill

across the square and through the window where pages fall like angels into the shadows of letters in the words you never say

but there behind your eyes yet to wake where I long the sleep and the pillow that you dream on

where you whisper these pale blue words on winter nights …

Spill the ink of unsaid against the curve of sleep
    Blow to make a wish
    And spin the blades
